Jiranair founders on Mount Kilimanjaro
15+ Years · Local Team
Our Story

Started with one Land Cruiser and a lot of local knowledge.

Jiranair Tours and Safaris was founded by three childhood friends from Moshi who grew up in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. "Jirani" means neighbour in Swahili — from day one, our promise was to welcome every traveller not as a customer, but as a neighbour paying us a visit.

What began as a single vehicle and a handful of trekking permits has grown into a full local team covering the Northern Circuit, Kilimanjaro's major routes, and the beaches of Zanzibar — but the family-style care hasn't changed.

What We Stand For

Our mission and values.

These are the principles our guides and staff carry with them on every trail, in every vehicle, and at every camp.

Genuine Hospitality

We treat every guest like a neighbour paying us a visit — never just a booking on a spreadsheet.

Sustainable Travel

We work closely with local conservancies and communities to protect the land that makes these journeys possible.

Safety First

Every climb and safari runs on well-maintained equipment, registered porters, and guides trained in wilderness first aid.

Local Expertise

Our guides were born and raised beside these parks and this mountain — their knowledge cannot be taught in a classroom.
